Happy 235th Birthday USMC

The CFO of the company I work for, my current Development Manager and the Post Commander for my building are all former Marines.  So 11/10/10 was a big day in our office.  I made these cupcakes to celebrate.  I am particularly proud of the emblem.

Now you see it....now you don't.

It was a hot sweaty day but it only took 3 hours to get the wall down and cleaned up.  Collin was awesome. A big thanks to Dad for agreeing to dispose of the debis at work.  Im sure the truck load of wood and drywall going down the 60 freeway monday morninng was a special sight. !Odelay!

The power washer might be magic

I LOVE how this turned out.

Growing up in La Crescenta has given me a great appreciation for these kinds of rock structures.  I have the ultimate green home. It was built in large part with the material they found on site.

Here are some before, during and after shots.

Here is the new house.

This weekend is going to be the first weekend to do some real work at the new place.  Mom and Dad are helping and i think we are going to be able to get a lot done.  The focus will be the exterior.  I think giving the outside a facelift will help with the overall moral.  There is a lot to do at this property and getting this project out of the way with such a dramatic impact to the look of the place will feel like we've gotten a lot accomplished.

All this ivy (rat nest) is coming down.

Shawna's First Blog

Blogs have proven to be a very effective medium for expression an efficient tool for keeping those around you up to date with the fun and noteworthy events of ones life.

I am hoping these qualities will translate into a useful tool for me to share my experiences with friends and family.  For those who know me well, it is known that I am not typically a "sharer"; so this might just end up being a failed experiment in social networking for me.
